New Grounds in the Scottish Borders

I am delighted to announce an exciting new venture with Tracy Ferguson which is the opening of our second training venue in the lush and beautiful Scottish Borders!

We have access to some of the most stunning topography in Scotland which makes for a wonderful opportunity for dog training. Woodland, ponds and waterways, steep gullies, Bracken covered hillsides, cover crops, the list is absolutely endless!
We can offer everything from residential training all the way to training holidays and breaks as we also have a wonderful hotel and self catering Cottages all on site.
Our training venue is literally a 30 minute drive to Edinburgh, so you can take in the sights as well as have a few days training with your dogs.
Meanwhile training at the Hampshire ground will take place each month – training days, workshops and 121s.

Pinewood Excels

I have been wearing Pinewood for all my training since I proudly announced Pinewood as our new sponsors in April and it has become an essential part of my day-to-day kit.

Pinewood specialises in the manufacture of quality clothing for outdoor people, and uniquely their Dog Sports range is specifically designed for dog trainers and workers in the field. A stand out element for me is the perfect fit, as it is often hard to come by outdoor clothing that if functional and flattering for women.

When training, it is essential to be focussed on the dog and not worried about clothing, the clothing is very comfortable, with the right pockets in the right places.

In this picture I am wearing the Women’s Trousers Pinewood® Dog Sports Extreme/3143,  with Teddy admiring them in the background.

June 1st – Here we go again

I do hope this finds you all in good health and spirits. I will be holding 121’s once again at the training ground as from June 1st in accordance with the government recommendations. I am looking forward to seeing you again but please remember the government restrictions on arrival at the ground, if you have any queries don’t hesitate to contact me for clarification.fullsizeoutput_16a6

Delighted to announce that Chapel Farm Premium Dog Foods are sponsoring Smiles Dog Training Limited and Meonvalley Gundogs.

Chapel Farm is the kennel name of the home of Buccleuch Gundogs and is the brand name adopted for a range of feeds developed by David Lisett for His Grace the Duke of Buccleuch.

The range is comprehensive and covers all the dietary requirements of my dogs and I am exceptionally happy with the condition, stamina, alertness and overall health of my dogs on this range.
